Ashley Village Council Meeting Minutes
October 19,  2021


The regular council meeting was called to order at 7:00 p.m. by President Ann Paksi.

Roll call was taken with Ann Paksi, Mike Turner, Dave Foote, Robert Studt, Doug Schneider,  Matt Brzak, Michelle Fitzpatrick-Clerk, Mary Osborn-Treasurer, Joel Zuker-DPW Supervisor
Absent:  Kristin Wilson,

Visitors: Sheila Keck

After review and discussion R. Studt   made a motion to approve the 10/14/21 amended agenda adding Country Christmas to agenda.  Supported by  M.Turner. Motion carried. 

After review and discussion R. Studt  made a motion to accept the Council Meeting Minutes of 09/09/21 as presented.  Supported by M. Brzak.  Motion carried.

After review and discussion R. Studt   made a motion to approve the check register/expenditures from September 10, 2021 October 14, 2021.  Supported M. Brzak  Motion carried.

Old Business:

M-Dot Contract for RR Road Closure was reviewed and discussed.  After review and discussion, it was approved to allow village clerk to sign contract.

American Rescue Plan update was reviewed and discussed.

Village Clerk discussed the Village email and that she is in process of setting up a business email account for all employees and council members.

New Business:


Country Christmas requested the use of the tables from the Community Center for Vendor Tables at the MMR building.  After review and discussion, it was decided to no allow the table to be removed from the Community Center for Vendor use.

DPW Supervisor brought up that a vendor at MMR building is requesting a 30-amp adapter to run their equipment to be put in the building.  After review and discussion council allowed DPW Supervisor to check into the cost and bring back to President for review.

Work Session overview was discussed.

Planning Commission to meet and discuss  working on a Noise Ordinance for the village.

The Village of Ashley sign fell down at M57 and Quarterline.

After review and discussion M. Turner approved the expenditure up to $2,000 for the purchase of a new Village of Ashley sign.  M. Brzak supported.  Motion Carried.

M. Turner made motion to adjourn regular council meeting at 8:23pm.  Supported by D. Schneider.  Motion Carried.
